GOSHEN, Ind. - Ancon Construction recently celebrated the grand opening of one of its latest projects, a new 3,500-square-foot CommunityWide Federal Credit Union office on the corner of Sunset Lane and S.R. 933 in South Bend.
“We have many members on the north side of South Bend and in the Niles area,” said Andy Burggraf, CWFCU vice president and COO. “We’re very excited to open this branch so we can better serve them.”
Ancon has built all of the credit union’s offices, beginning with its headquarters in South Bend, which was completed in 1998. The S.R. 933 location, the company’s sixth, features three drive-through lanes and eight teller stations.
CommunityWide is completing a visual overhaul that started this summer with a new logo. “Since our organization has grown and changed so much in the last few years, we decided our graphics should change also. We’ve put the new, more recognizable logo on all of our signage,” Burggraf stated. “We’re very pleased to see our institution thriving.”
While there are no plans currently in the works for more service centers, the company is “always looking for more opportunities to expand,” said Burggraf.
Founded in 1967, CommunityWide operates two other offices in South Bend, two in Mishawaka and one in Granger. It is the fastest-growing credit unions in Indiana, having expanded over 100 percent since 1998. It has grown from 24 employees and 13,000 members to 70 employees and over 33,000 members in that time period, with assets rising from $60 million to $190 million.
