Pediatric Dentist Opens New Goshen Office

GOSHEN, Ind. - Pediatric dentist Dr. Michael Bigler recently opened a new medical office at 21781 Omega Court in Goshen. Designed and constructed by Goshen-based Ancon Construction Co, the building has nearly 3,200 square feet, twice the size of Bigler’s previous Elkhart location.
“When I moved into my other office in 1983, I didn’t have any help setting up the place,” Bigler noted. “I just threw it all together myself and jammed in as much as I could. It was always too small and too crowded there.”
Finally he called on Ancon to design and build a new facility. Ancon broke ground last fall, with a projected finish date of mid-May of this year. After winter’s inclement weather passed, “they went lickety split, and we were done,” Bigler said. “They said the middle of May, and we were right there, on the nose.”
Bigler said the entire process went smoothly. Communication between the architect, dental office consultant and construction crew couldn’t have been better, he stated, putting to rest any horror stories he’d heard about designing one’s own office.
“I wasn’t sure I wanted to take the design-build path, because of a seminar I once attended that was given by a dental architect. He stressed the idea that you need a specialist like him in control to get it exactly as it should be,” recalled Bigler. “He said the change orders would kill you. But Ancon worked well within my expectations. There were no surprises.”
The new office is pleasantly roomy with a floor plan that greatly improves the office’s traffic flow, Bigler related. “I’ve had so many positive comments from all my patients. And of course, the staff just loves it to pieces.”
