Evil Czech Brewery Case Study

Architect and General Contractor Ancon Construction shares a brief description of their award winning project.  The project was awarded the 2014 ABC “Award of Honor” in the “Historic-Non Renovation Category”.

Evil Czech Brewery is a Design-Build project that demonstrates a unique transformation of an abandoned building into an on-site brewery, pub, and restaurant.  The 10,500 sqft brewery, located on the busiest north-south arterial road in Mishawaka, represents the growing phenomenon of the “maker movement” and creates a learning experience for patrons by blurring the boundaries between process and finished product.  Diners and bar patrons are seated next to the brew making process –separated only by glass wall systems.  The new façade features layered brick, raw steel, and weathered wood –creating a stunning destination and a preamble to the experience held inside.
