Ancon Begins New Building Project With Agdia, Inc.

Agdia, Inc., a leading provider of easy-to-use test kits for agricultural diagnostics, officially broke ground on September 27th, 2012 for a new facility.  The two story, 50,000 sq.ft. building features numerous office spaces, laboratories, growth chambers, and also contains a rooftop patio space adjacent to the employee break room.  Ancon Project Architect,Todd Miller, designed the modern looking building with curved metal roofs, clerestory atrium windows, glass curtain walls, and a stone/brick material palette to fit into the rural/agricultural context.  The new facility will be located on sixty acres of land located in North West Elkhart County and will house all of Agdia’s operations. The new facility will be located approximately 1 mile from its current location.  The ground breaking involved all of Agdia’s employees as well as those involved with the project: local county officials, engineers, design and construction company representatives, financial representatives and local economic development officials.  “This new facility shows Agdia’s and our employees’ dedication and commitment to Elkhart County and the agricultural industry.  It will only enhance and expand our ability to foster a 31 year commitment, which is providing our customers high quality and reliable diagnostic solutions to help them grow healthy and profitable crops” says Agdia President, Baziel Vrient.  Excavation and other site prep work will be conducted this fall with actual construction scheduled to start in March of 2013. Expected completion date is late 2013 early 2014.
