Ancon Construction and Lyons Industries recently held a ground breaking ceremony and luncheon to celebrate the construction of a new 32,000 sqft building addition in Dowagiac. Construction, which started in August and will be complete in February, is being overseen by Project Manager Doug VonGunten and Field Superintendent Tony Black. The $2 million dollar investment will add approximately 50 more jobs to the company and is a result of the booming business. Last year Lyons, who manufactures shower, bath, and sink components, experienced an increase of 75% in sales. Lyons Industries now offers more than 1,000 different combinations of products, making them a leader in the industry. “We’re at the point now where we’re introducing a new product about every three weeks,” said Lyons Industries President Lance Lyons. “And, really it’s that new product that’s driving the business.”
The 32,000 sqft building addition will feature warehouse space, a shipping office, restrooms, lounge area, and ten recessed docking bays – allowing Lyons to ship their product more efficiently and quickly. For more information on Lyons Industries, visit www.lyonsindustries.com.
