Work continues on a new Red Panda exhibit at the Potawatomi Zoo. The new exhibit will be enclosed with Safari fencing and will feature two Chinese-themed pavilions with nesting boxes for the Red Pandas. Site design also includes a stamped concrete viewing area with glass walls and landscaping. “The design intent aims to allow visitors very close access to the exhibit with the glass wall system. The viewing area will be an attractive destination node along the main circulation loop of the zoo”, states Ancon Designer Matthew VanSoest. “It was fun to learn about Red Pandas -their behaviors and needs; and to incorporate specific architecture and landscape design that reflects their natural habitat of China.”
